Welcome to this week's blog post!

Finally, I started a new book. It is called '새장에 갇힌 새가 왜 노래하는지 나는 아네' and in English, 'I know why the caged bird sings'. 

Our English class started this book in English. To get a better understanding of the book, I decided to read a Korean version of it too. 

For now, I've only read until chapter 5. But the good thing is, thanks to the assignments, I read the book pretty continuously, not at the last moment. 

To give the basic information about the book, it is a written biography of an author called Maya Angelou. In this book, according to what I've read so far, Maya goes through much racial and sexual abuse throughout her life. I think as I continue the book, the author will describe how she has overcome the difficulties. At least I hope so.

I was also assigned a new book to read in the Korean class. The name of the book is '조선왕조실록' written by 설민석. The author is a very interesting guy. 설민석 isn't either history major or sociology major. In fact, he majored in acting in college. However, his teaching in Korean history was so easy to understand and active that people loved his lecture. As a result, he ended up being on TV several times and became the best book author. I've heard his book many times but I didn't have a chance to read it. Through this opportunity, I'm excited to read the book.
