3/3 post

welcome to this week's post!

As I finished reading the first half of the book, "Guns, Germs, and Steel", I encountered a new book suggestion from my dad. It was a book called "Christian basic".

Here is a story of how the suggestion came up. During 11th grade Bible class, Mr. Roh gives us a time to discuss. During these discussions, I end up getting questions that are understandable for non-christian students to ask. Although I have been going to church for a long time and have studied the bible for quite long, there was always one question that I couldn't answer. Or, I knew the answer that I have learned, but I wasn't sure that it would make sense to non-christian friends.

Every time I encounter these questions that I can not answer within my biblical knowledge, I always go to my dad and ask him about it. Although he always gives me the best answer, this time he decided to go further. He suddenly went to his bookshelves and looked through them for a pretty long time. Then, he took out a book and gave me, saying "this will help you to answer all questions you've asked me and questions you will get from people."

To give you a brief explanation of the book, the author of the book is a very famous pastor in Korea. After serving at a huge church in Seoul, the author becomes a professor at a university. As he lectures in university, he gets any questions from non-Christians. Some of them were very common, but some of them were very critical according to the author. After some time he spent as a professor, he decides to write a book about his experience.

Throughout this week, I have read about 1/3 of the book. It was very easy to read and fun. I hope I will make my self more answer-able to biblical questions. Feel free to ask if it looks like I have finished the book!
